Day 18

Today was my last day in Al-Qimma school, and it was the right time to evaluate the whole experience. I think it is a great experience from many aspects but at the same time, it includes some flaws.

In this TP, I had a full chance to apply differentiation and realized the implications of it. After this experience, I think I will use differentiation as my main teaching strategy in all subjects. Another important change, I made in this TP was improving my behavior management skills and establishing my own techniques. The most obvious development I made this semester was my time management skills. I discovered the right way to manage my lesson duration by selecting a proper number of activities.

An interesting experience in this TP was practicing in mix genders classroom. Before I started, I thought it would be difficult to teach in mix class, but I was mistaken. The interaction between boys and girls was positive, and there were few misbehaving incidents based on gender differences. The funny thing was noticing boys asking girls to walk and line up before them in any transition.

On the other hand, the main flaw was my language I didn’t feel I make a good improvement in this aspect. When I reflected, I didn’t feel satisfied with my language level, and I realized that I need to work hard to reach perfection. Also, I’m not satisfied with the number of lessons I taught this teaching practice. However, I can’t blame myself when I only had three weeks to teach because exams required one week and the last week students were absent. For example, all students were absent today, and there was no teaching in the whole schools. I spent the day in the meeting room working on my e-portfolio.

In general, I enjoyed my journey in this teaching practice, and I’m thinking to take TP in my fourth year in this school. I ensure as usual at the end of each teaching practice that I’m in the right place, and I liked what I’m doing.
