Day 4

It is the start of the second week where I aimed to practice teaching as much as possible because I realized it is my fifth semester and it is the time to be perfect. It was a regular day I attend assembly, classes, playtime, and bus duty. I tried to discuss my lesson plans with my MST that I send to her a day before, but she didn’t give me many details all that she said: “you will be fine.” I wasn’t happy because I’d love to discuss how I can apply differentiation in her class as she didn’t implement it. When I thought about the role of MST with a student teacher the first thing come to my mind is offering advice, but that wasn’t available from my MST.

In my break, I tried to plan for a science session for tomorrow I read instructions from the teacher’s guidebook which clarify the concept and what students should acquire during the lesson. In this teaching practice, I benefit from teacher guidebook, and I realized that when I become a teacher, it will be helpful because it includes ideas and strategies for teaching each concept and subject. As a student teacher, I spent a long time in planning lessons and creating activities which worried me. What I mean if I spend all this time in preparing for one or two lessons how I will prepare for a full day teaching in future. However, when I read teacher’s guidebooks, I understand that it will be much better because these books explain everything such as outcomes, learning objectives, activities, differentiation, and resources. Also, I liked it when I figured out that there are math and science resources rooms which available for teachers.

At the end of the day, I went to the science lab where I took some resources for tomorrow lesson. I’m excited for tomorrow where I will teach my first math lesson. Hope it will be great!
