It is my third week in Al-Ezzah school, and today it was my first observation with my monitor college teacher who allowed us to record our lesson for 45 minutes and send it to her to evaluate us based on that. It is not my first time to experience such type of observations because due to some circumstances teachers sometimes will account recorded lesson as an official observation.
I was prepared to teach three sections the same lesson but with some differentiation and my teaching sessions went very well except with one class who was challenging, and I couldn’t finish the whole lesson. However, I learned a lot from this section because I understand how the learning style for students can control the success of the learning process. For instance, when I taught this section in my previous lessons, I didn't face any difficulties in delivering lessons because I relied on visuals, but today, when I focused on hands-on activities students, perform poorly. When I get my feedback about teaching this session, I wasn't satisfied with my performance, but I believe that teaching practice is the ideal time to turn my mistakes into learning opportunities. Moreover, it was an excellent chance to teach three sections in one day because it helped to experience the differences between students and how their needs are completely varied.
At the end of the day, my monitor school teacher gave the other student teacher and I a nice compliment for our professional commitment, and she shared with us a post that she published about us in her Facebook's account. I think the way our MST treats us gives me great encouragement to do my best which in my opinion, is the vital role for any MST.
