Day 3:

Updated: Oct 20, 2018

Today was the start of my second week in Al-Ezzah School, and the first thing I did was showing my monitor school teacher my lesson plans for Wednesday and Thursday and get her signature. It was a typical day, assembly, classes, break, and classes again. The only difference was an event about future energy where a team from a local organization came to school and presented interesting experiments for the students. Although my classes didn’t attend the event, I went during my break to see what the event was about, and I found it very interesting especially when I noticed how students were engaged and excited.

During classes, the main concept was camouflaged where the teacher presented the video at the beginning of the class then gave students worksheets and pictures of bugs, then asked students to implement the concept. I noticed many students have difficulty with finishing the activity that why I started to explain for them and sometimes translated into Arabic. After students finished their work, my MST asked me and the other student teacher to design a display where we presented students’ work. Interestingly, there was a talented girl who drew an extraordinary picture compared to her age, and that caught my colleague attention and mine.

At the end of the day, I was satisfied when my college monitor teacher gave another student teacher and me a compliment because the H.O.F and our MST were impressed with our performance so far. This incident encourages me to put more effort into this teaching practice experience because everything I do is noticeable.
