Day 12:

A new week started at Al-Ezzah School where I was preparing to teach my second observation with my monitor college teacher before the date changed to the next week. However, my colleague who is doing her teaching practice in the same classroom as I had her MCT’s observation today and I left the classroom, so she can be more comfortable.

I went to the planning development room, so I can finish my work on an assessment that worth 40% of a science course and I was happy when I found the room empty. However, my happiness didn’t last for a long time because a group of teachers was having a meeting in the room and the quietness turned into a loud conversation. Fortunately, this situation didn’t last for a long time because the teachers finished their session and left the room which gave me a quiet space to work.

The most interesting thing I noticed today was the usage of a website called learn boost that my monitor school teacher relies on every day in her classroom to take attendance and post grades. I think this is a useful website because it gives teachers opportunities to have records for students’ progress and it can be shared with students’ guardians. My monitor school teacher shared with me that the principal asked her to introduce this website to all the school teachers tomorrow in a planning meeting so all school will benefit from this website particularly in making students reports.

Another critical thing today was the science project description that my monitor school teacher handled for each student where they were required to create a shoe-box about ecosystems that they were learning about this week. The excitement between fourth-grade students was really noticeable when the teacher showed completed examples of the project, and they start thinking aloud which ecosystem they will choose for their science project.
